Foster Parents
Caring About Kids raises funds to support children placed in court-ordered foster care. Their placements are supervised by foster care agencies in Ingham County, including the Ingham County Department of Health and Human Services, Bethany Christian Services, Child and Family Charities, Samaritas, and St. Vincent Catholic Charities.
Our goal is to provide foster children with a wide variety of goods and services that go beyond what standard resources can cover. This includes tuition scholarships for educational programs, summer camp tuition, sports fees and clothing, birthday gifts, books, art supplies, and other special items that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
How do we make this happen?
All of our funding comes from generous donations which include both general contributions and special events such as the OIG Annual Golf Outing, pop can collections, private donors, and unique fundraising activities.
If you know of a child in foster care who could benefit from Caring About Kids’ support, please reach out to their caseworker. Whatever that “little something” may be, if it could improve their life, we encourage you to submit a request. You can fill out the request form here and share it with the caseworker. Be sure to keep a copy for your records.
We also love hearing from you! Share your story with us here to let us know how a gift from Caring About Kids has touched your life or a child’s life. While we never reveal names or identifying details of any foster child we help, your stories inspire us and keep our mission going.
